The College library management System is an online application for assisting a librarian in managing a book library in a university. The system would provide basic set of features to add/update members, add/update books, and manage check in specifications for the systems based on the client’s statement of need. Library is place where all kind of books are available. This system contains list of all the books and can be accessed by users. But for that users must be registered user. This system is three tier architecture. Client sends requests, on receiving the request the server processes it and extracts the data from database and sends the result back to the client. This system provides separate interface and login for librarian, students and faculties. Librarian can modify database. Users can search for books and can view the issue and return dates of any book and due they have to pay. This system generates reports that can be used in analyzing the library performance.
In this module, librarian login in to their home page to update the library details such as book checking, adding books and searching books.
This module exists student/faculty should register to take the book from library. Registration generate unique member id to every user and by use of it you can login to your page and take the books.
This module, the user can select their book from library list and it was provided by librarian permission to the user.
In this, the user should return the library book within due date after that librarian put fine amount to that user based on days delayed to return book.
In this, the user and the librarian can check the books in their specific home page which is used to select their desire books easily through book id. Every book has unique id.
This module consists of the librarian can add new book in to the library and it could be easy way.
If one is not very careful then there is a possibility of issuing more than one book to a user.There is a possibility of issuing a book to a user, whose membership is not there.When a user requests for the a book, one has to physically check for the presence of a book in the library
Answering management query is a time consuming process.Daily keeping a manual record of changes taking place in the library such as book being issued, book being returned etc can become cumbersome if the Library size is bigger.
The “COLLEGE LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM“ is a software application which avoids more manual hours in taking the book, that need to spend in record keeping and generating reports. Maintaining of user details is complex in manual system in terms of agreements, royalty and activities. This all have to be maintained in ledgers or books. Co-coordinators need to verify each record for small information also.

After we have completed the project we are sure the problems in the existing system would overcome. The “COLLEGE LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” process made computerized to reduce human errors and to increase the efficiency. The main focus of this project is to lessen human efforts. The maintenance of the records is made efficient, as all the records are stored in the ACCESS database, through which data can be retrieved easily. The navigation control is provided in all the forms to navigate through the large amount of records. If the numbers of records are very large then user has to just type in the search string and user gets the results immediately. The editing is also made simpler. The user has to just type in the required field and press the update button to update the desired field.
The Books and Students are given a particular unique id no. So that they can be accessed correctly and without errors. Our main aim of the project is to get the correct information about a particular student and books available in the library.The problems, which existed in the earlier system, have been removed to a large extent. And it is expected that this project will go a long way in satisfying users requirements. The computerization of the Library Management will not only improves the efficiency but will also reduce human stress thereby indirectly improving human recourses.
