The main thesis of this project is to develop a secured and verified e-voting system, for finger print accessing and eyeball recognition we use AADHAR card database. At the time of voting in the elections, the e-voting process authentication can be done using finger vein sensing, which enables the electronic ballot reset for allowing voters to cast their votes. Also the voted data and voters details can be sent to the nearby Database Administration unit in a timely manner using Zigbee System with cryptography technique.
First the user should register and login for storing their basic information’s with their basic details such as name, age, gender, date of birth, address, citizenship. Authentication is done by voter list of voters at that polling station and voter id card having by voters both voter id card and voter list are issued by the election commission of India (ECI). The voter ID card is an identification card issued by the Election Commission to all eligible voters (Indian citizens who are above 18 years of age) to enable voter identification on Election Day. All those who are already enrolled in the voter's list are eligible to receive a voter ID card. These cards carry personal details and a distinct identification number. (In future, data of a biometric nature like digital signature and fingerprints may also be contained inside a microchip, embedded in the given card.)
Currently voting is done by EVM in India and voter is allowed to only cast his/her after complete authentication. Authentication is done by voter list of voters at that polling station and voter id card having by voters both voter id card and voter list are issued by the election commission of India (ECI). A government and constitutional body of India is there to control and take care of the Indian election. If voter name matches with the name that is on the voter ID card and he has not casted his/her vote before then the voter is allowed to vote Each voter has an photo ID card issued by the ECI. On the election day of election, he has to go to the polling booth for casting his vote. Where an electoral officer will check his /her identity with a voter list provided by ECI. After authentication voter is allowed to cast his vote by EVM.
Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) on behalf of the Government of India. Each individual needs to enroll only once which is free of cost. Each Aadhaar number will be unique to an individual and will remain valid for life. Aadhaar number will helps to provide access to services like banking, mobile phone connections and other Government and Non-Government services. Biometric data like fingerprint, iris and palm geometry face is stored in database of Aadhaar. This number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India. Any individual, irrespective of age and gender, who is a resident in India and satisfies the verification process laid down by the UIDAI, can enroll for Aadhaar. The main goal of an automation of election commission system is to ensure the privacy of the voters and of the votes. An automation of election commission system are satisfies the following requirements,
1. Eligibility: only votes of legitimate voters shall be taken into account. 2. Anonymity: votes are set secret 3. Accuracy: cast ballot cannot be altered. Therefore, it must not be possible to delete ballots nor to add ballots, once the election has been closed. 4. Fairness: partial tabulation is impossible. 5. Vote and go: once a voter has casted their vote, no further action prior to the end of the election. 6. Public verifiability: anyone should be able to readily check the validity of the whole voting process.
Biometrics is the identification of an individual using a distinctive aspect of their biology or behavior. Two same types biometric property (traits) of different person can’t be matched. It is divided in two characteristic (i) Physiological and (ii) behavioral. Behavioral aspect includes speach, keyboard typing, Signature and Physiological includes fingerprint, hand, eyes and face.Fingerprint: This is to authenticate any one like in forensic experts do in criminal cases. Fingerprint scanners are probably the most commonly used biometric systems. Similar systems include hand geometry or palm prints. Figure print of two humans never matched
Iris. Another static property of individuals are eyes. One can either use pictures of the person’s iris or use a retina scanner that scans blood vessels to create an individual data set.
Voting is a method for a group such as a meeting or an electorate to make a decision or express an opinion, usually following discussions, debates or election campaigns. Democracies elect holders of high office by voting. Residents of a place represented by an elected official are called "constituents", and those constituents who cast a ballot for their chosen candidate are called "voters". The voter can vote to the preferable candidate .
A secured and verified e-voting system in which the election data is recorded, stored and processed primarily as digital information. E-voting is referred as “electronic voting” and defined as any voting process where an electronic means is used for votes casting and results counting. E-voting is an election system that allows a voter to record their ballots in an electrically secured method. A number of electronic voting systems are used in large applications like optical scanners which read manually marked ballots to entirely electronic touch screen voting systems. Specialized voting systems like DRE (direct recording electronic) voting systems, RFID, national IDs, the Internet, computer networks, and cellular systems are also used in voting process
In this method, the details of the voter will get from the AADHAR card database. It was a newly developed database which is having all the information about the people. By using this database we took the voter’s information will be stored in the Personal Computer. At the time of elections, for finger print and iris accessing we use finger sensing module and iris sensing module. Fingerprint recognition or fingerprint authentication and eyeball authentication refers to the automated method of verifying a match between two human fingerprints and iris. fingerprint authentication devices Capture the finger vein image and compare or match to database, capture finger vein, iris and database finger vein,
iris matched means this person will be valid for next section and if condition is satisfied automatically, E-voting machine buttons will be activate otherwise deactivate buttons After the E-voting machine buttons are activated, the voter cast his/her vote. After completion of his/her voting process, a “voting process completed” message will be displayed on the screen. The number of votes is counted by the E-Voting machine and the information will be sent to the local electrical administrator by using Zigbee wireless communication technology.
Secure and Verified E-Voting System have many advantages over the traditional way of voting. Some of these advantages are lesser cost, faster tabulation of results, improved accessibility, greater accuracy, and lower risk of human and mechanical errors. It is very difficult to design ideal e-voting system which can allow security and privacy on the high level with no compromise.
